How we introduce new CPZs

We will consider introducing CPZs in areas suffering from parking congestion, to make it easier for local people to park, and to make our streets cleaner, safer and more accessible for all.

Areas suffering from parking congestion are mainly located around stations and shopping centres and priority is given to these areas.

Requests for a CPZ have to be supported by petitions or individual requests. Petitions can be sent to the Head of Sustainable Communities at trafficandhighways@merton.gov.ukor your ward councillor. Individual requests should be sent to your ward councillor.

Before introducing a CPZ, we carry out extensive consultations with local residents, businesses and councillors.
