If you have a parking e-permit and are using a courtesy car while your car is being repaired, you need to follow these steps to get temporary authorisation for the courtesy car.
Permits obtained or renewed after 5 November 2024
You need to apply for 'temporary cover' for the courtesy car.
Apply for temporary cover
- Log in to your parking permits account (this link will open in a new tab in your browser)
- Under “Your permits” select “View your permits”
- Click “View/edit” under the permit you want to change
- Select “Apply for temporary cover”
- Enter the registration number of your temporary vehicle and the date you want your temporary cover to start
- Click “Next” and “Buy now” (you will not be charged for this amendment)
You will be able to use your permit with the courtesy car straight away.
This change will last for up to 21 days.
If you change back to your original vehicle within the 21-day period, you must end your temporary cover.
End your temporary cover
- Log in to your parking permits account (this link will open in a new tab in your browser)
- Under “Your permits” select “View your permits”
- Click “View/edit” under the permit that has the temporary cover
- Under “Temporary cover” click “End temporary cover”
- Confirm that you want to end the temporary cover
Permits obtained or renewed before 5 November 2024
If you're using a business permit or trade permit, you need to cancel the permit and make a new application for the courtesy car.
If you're using one of the following permits, you need to apply for a temporary permit:
- resident permit
- car park season ticket
- school safety zone resident or carer permit

- Log in to your parking permits account (this link will open in a new tab in your browser)
- Under “Your permits”, click “See permits you can apply for”
- Under “Residents Temp Permit (Ringgo Customers Only)”, click “Apply”
- Follow the instructions on the page
You will be able to use your temporary permit with the courtesy car straight away.
The temporary permit is valid for up to 21 days.
You must cancel your temporary permit if you change back to your original vehicle within the 21-day period:

- Click “View” under “Residents Temp Permit (Ringgo Customers Only)”
- Click “Cancel Permit”
