How pay for parking with RingGo

1. Register

Register at the RingGo website, using the smartphone app, or call 020 3046 0060. You will need to provide:

  • the registration number, colour and make of your vehicle
  • your payment card details
  • your contact details.

2. Park

You can find car parks, on-street parking bays, and parking charges on the RingGo website.

3. Pay

Pay when you arrive, but before you walk away from the car park or on-street parking place you will need to provide the following information:

  • the location number and length of time you want to park, up to the maximum time of stay allowed (see the list of car parks below or check nearby signs)
  • The 3- or 4-digit digit security code from the back of your payment card.

You can pay using the RingGo smartphone app, website, automated telephone line or text message.

With RingGo you don't need to display a ticket in your windscreen, as our enforcement officers use handheld computers to check which vehicles are using RingGo.

  • We don't use QR codes to download the app.

  • If your password isn't accepted, make it stronger.
  • To enhance security, we'll send you a code via text or email during the sign-up process.
  • Tell us where you're parked.
  • Type in your location code displayed on the signage.
  • Confirm your details and tap to pay.
  • Great stuff. You're all set!

Extend your stay

If you need more time you can easily extend your stay using the app, website, automated telephone line or text message. There is no need to return to your car.

You can only extend your session up to the maximum stay allowed (see the list of car parks below or our Charges and meters page for on-street parking bays).

When you have stayed for the maximum time you will not be able to return to that location or road to park for 1 hour.

Charges for using RingGo

There is no charge for registering with RingGo and no charge for downloading or using the RingGo smartphone applications.

When using London Borough of Merton parking facilities you will pay a 20p convenience fee on top of the parking tariff.

Calls to RingGo are charged at the standard "geographic" rate agreed with your mobile phone operator. Such calls are often included free within mobile phone packages, so if you receive a free "bundle of minutes", your call will usually be included within this.

If you pay by text message you will pay for the text message at your agreed operator rate. You will also pay a 10p charge for the summary text message (which you automatically receive), giving you confirmation of your parking session details.

The optional parking session confirmation messages and reminder texts (alerting you when your session is about to run out) cost 10p per message. There is also a 10p transaction fee for extending a session.

See the RingGo Parking Locator for parking charges for individual car parks or on-street parking bays.

VAT receipts

Log into your RingGo account to view and print VAT receipts. You can also ask RingGo to send you a receipt automatically every time you park: just go to the RingGo settings page.

Request a refund

If you paid for a parking session but didn’t use it

We will refund your payment (minus transaction charges) for an unused parking session only in the following circumstances:

  • you paid for parking for the wrong vehicle by mistake, and you made a second payment for the correct vehicle within 30 minutes of the first payment
  • you paid for parking at a time when there were no parking restrictions at that location (such as bank holidays in some CPZs)

We will not refund:

  • a session you didn’t use because you couldn’t find a parking space (you should always find a space before you pay)
  • unused time if you bought a longer parking session than you needed
  • a session you didn't use for any reason other than those listed above

If you were overcharged due to an error

We will refund your payment if you were overcharged due to our system calculating the charge incorrectly.
