We provide recycling banks around the borough where you can recycle card, glass, paper, cans, cartons, textiles and plastic bottles, tubs and pots. You can find these using the link above or in the table below.

You can recycle plastic bags and wrapping at supermarkets. You can find these using the link above.

At our Garth Road Recycling Centre you can dispose of more items including carpets, electricals, furniture, rubble and soil.

You can put batteries out in a separate bag with your household recycling.

Accepted items

  • Plastic: plastic bottles, tubs and pots
  • Glass: glass bottles and jars
  • Cans: all food and drink cans
  • Paper and card: newspaper, magazines, junk mail, envelopes, scrap paper, cardboard boxes and packaging
  • Cartons: food and drink cartons such as Tetra Pak
  • Foil: aluminium sheet foil and foil trays
  • Textiles: clothing and shoes, but no pillows or duvets
