What you will gain from the session
Through presentations from senior figures in Merton's children's services, workshop and networking sessions, and a comprehensive resource desk, delegates will come away equipped with an understanding of:
- The 'bigger picture' - How your role fits into the priorities and aspirations of the Children's Trust and delivery of its Children and Young People's Plan; as a thematic strand of the Merton Partnership's Community Plan, and it's relationship to other key partnership groups such as the Merton Safeguarding Children's Partnership and the Health and Well-Being Board.
- Key facts about Merton and our children, young people and families - demographics, outcomes data, and key areas of success.
- The integrated working practices and processes which support effective 'Early Help' and safeguarding - the Merton Well-Being Model (MWBM), and the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), and information sharing.
- User voice - the importance of children and young people's participation and engagement in practice, and in service design and delivery.
- How to access further resources - continuing professional development, information and resources which will be essential to your role.
It is a good idea for you to familiarise yourself with the above information as preparation for the induction session.
