The Special Educational Needs Adviser offers training and support for individuals, groups and whole school to improve their capacity to meet the needs of pupils with SEN
What we offer

- Individual, group and whole school support for the development of inclusive practice
- Brokerage of language and learning support
The Language and Learning Support Team involves specialist Learning and Language Teachers and Speech and Language Therapists. They provide training. advice and support to help schools to develop their provision, including:
- Screening for literacy/language difficulties across EYs, KS1, KS2 and KS3
- Adapting teaching to include pupils with learning/language difficulties
- Using SEN resources to improve access to the curriculum e.g. Communicate in Print 2, Clicker, Numicon
- Training, modelling, monitoring and supporting interventions across the age range e.g. Write Away Together, Phonics, Speech Difficulties, Nurturing Talk, Talkabout, Chataway, The Number Box, Numicon
- Accredited training for Teaching Assistants - a range of ELKLAN courses in supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs including ASD
- Individual pupil intervention through: assessments and/or programme development and monitoring (Language and Learning)
