Donations to food banks

Food Banks are busier than normal during the cost of living crisis, and they depend on donations and volunteers. Any help you could offer to support community members in need, will go a long way.

Your donations and fundraising efforts for The Merton Giving Fund will support local charitable organisations that provide crucial support to our community.

Dons Local Action Group(link is external)

You can donate unwanted laptops, furniture and white goods in good working order to the Dons Local Action Group to be distributed to community members in need.

The organisation is run almost entirely by volunteers with a range of opportunities available. Your contribution will be valued whether you can volunteer once a month or a few times a week, helping in-person or from home. Visit the ‘Volunteer’ page of the website for a list of open roles.

Commonside Trust(link is external)

Lunch Club volunteers who can help prepare, serve and clear meals for up to 30 older people on weekdays from 9.30am to 2pm are needed. You can do one day or five days, regular or one-off, starting 9.30am or 11am – the Trust is flexible and grateful for any help.
