Frequently asked questions
How will the children’s centres change?
We are committed to delivering a partnership children’s centre offer across the borough, including services for under 5s. These will continue to be delivered. We will explore development opportunities across our Family Hub network sites, listening to families, children and young people as part of the Family Hub transformation journey.
Will the Merton Family Hub support my family during the cost-of-living crisis?
We know that the cost of living is a big issue for lots of families and communities. Merton Family Hub will help families gain easier access to support and advice available.
Please visit Merton’s Cost-of-Living Support webpage for guidance and support to help you stay well, keep the lights on and pay the bills.
How will the Merton Family Hub help new parents?
Our Start for Life offer is focused on the first 1001 day of early days of parenthood, from becoming pregnant to your child reaching the age of two. Our new Start for Life webpage and posters help bring together all the information you need during this period in one place. We have made it easier for everyone to access information about the help and support available this really important time.
Will I have to register to use Family Hub?
We are exploring the best way for us to register families and then how we hold and share information. We are at the start of this piece of work, so we will be updating as we go along and testing things out with families and young people. For now, you can expect to register with services in the usual manner, depending on how and where they are being delivered.
Will my family information be shared with other services when I register?
We will continue to work in a way that helps families receive the right mix of services across the Family Hubs, sharing information in line with GDPR and the information sharing agreements that develop along with our transformation activity.
