In applications for new Premises Licences or Club Premises Certificates, a New Premises notice printed on pale blue A4 paper must be displayed. The notice must be displayed for a continuous period of not less than 28 consecutive days starting on the day after the day on which the application was submitted to The Licensing Authority.
If you are applying for a Variation of your licence, please use a Variation Premises Notice. As above, the notice should be printed on pale blue A4 paper and displayed for a continuous period of not less than 28 consecutive days starting on the day after the day on which the application was submitted to the licensing authority.
Officers and the Sub-Committee may attach conditions to the licence. Merton have a list of Pool conditions that may be used to form these conditions. You may wish to consider these when completing the application operating schedule.
The Notice must appear where it can readily be seen by passers-by.
You must also place a New Premises advertisement in a local newspaper circulated in the vicinity of the premises. This must be done within 10 working days after the application was submitted to the licensing authority.
If you are applying for a Variation of your licence, please use a Variation newspaper advertisement.

You only have to advertise in one newspaper.
There is no need for any person holding a club registration certificate to apply for a Personal Licence.
Plans
Plans of the premises should normally be to a scale of 1:100 and should have a legend.
The Plan of the Premises should show:
- the perimeter of the building, if relevant, and any internal and external walls which make up the premises
- the location of the entrances and exits
- the locations to be used for licensable activities
- details of any fixed structures
- where applicable, the location and height of any stage or raised floor area
- the location of any public conveniences
- the location and type of any fire safety equipment
- the location of any kitchen on the premises
- the location of any steps, stairs, elevators or lifts
Surrendering an existing premises licence or club certificate
