Night time economy strategy

We want to hear from Merton residents, visitors and workers about their experiences of Merton at night.

To have your say, complete a survey by 31 January 2025.

Overview

We are developing a night time strategy to set out a vision for making Merton a destination place to visit, travel and enjoy post 6pm.

We would love to hear views from residents, visitors, and workers about their experiences of Merton at night – between 6pm and 6am.

There are two surveys: one for residents and visitors, and another for night time workers. The surveys offer the opportunity to feedback on Merton’s town centres, cultural activities, public safety, transportation, and more.

Have your say and help shape the future of your town centre during the night time with the chance of winning a voucher for local high street retailers.

Night time economy

The night time economy refers to the business, social and cultural activities that happen between 6pm and 6am.

It includes leisure, hospitality and entertainment industries but can also be transport services, supermarkets and essential services, such as hospitals.

The strategy for our night time economy will aim to enhance the experience for residents and visitors and supports our workers and businesses by making our town centres lively, safe, and inclusive spaces during the evening and post 6pm night time.
