How to search the registers
To search within a document, press Ctrl+F on your keyboard and enter a search term (such as a name or address word) in the box that appears. Remember shop names do change and address descriptions can vary from person to person. It is also possible for more than one licence to exist for the same location.
Premises and clubs (Licensing Act 2003)

Licensing conditions may not always apply
Some activities have been 'deregulated' and no longer require a licence. This means that some conditions on premises licences might not apply in specific situations.
For example, a licence may state that “doors and windows must be closed when regulated entertainment is taking place.” However, this condition may not apply between 8am and 11pm if the activity is covered by one of the exceptions listed below.
These conditions can be reinstated if the premises licence is reviewed.
Plays and dance
No licence is required for performances of plays or dance (except for sexual entertainment venues) between 8am and 11pm, provided that the audience does not exceed 500.
Indoor sporting events
No licence is required indoor sporting events (except for boxing and wrestling) between 8am and 11pm, provided that the audience does not exceed 1000.
Live music
No licence is required for live music performances between 8am and 11pm if at least one of the following is true:
- the performance is unamplified
- the performance is amplified and is incidental
- the performance takes place to an audience of no more than 500 persons at a premises that are either open for the supply of alcohol for consumption on the premises or that are a workplace
Recorded music
No licence is required for recorded music performances between 8am and 11pm if at least one of the following is true:
- the performance is incidental
- the audience does not exceed 500 persons in an area licensed and open for the on supply of alcohol
Pavement licences (Business and Planning Act 2020)
Gambling premises (Gambling Act 2005)
- There are currently no gambling premises licence applications under consultation.

Designated premises supervisor information requests
Information about the address of the Designated Premises Supervisor is personal data and as such is subject to the Data Protection Act 1998. This information does not form part of the public register, although it will be provided on receipt of an application for information necessary to prevent or detect crime, to apprehend or prosecute offenders or to establish or defend legal rights, including applications under the Licensing Act 2003.
Requests for this information must specify:
- the identity of the individual or organisation requesting the information
- the purpose for which the information is sought
- the specific information necessary for the stated purpose
